Stonewall launches website for LGBT job seekers
October 25, 2011

LGBT who are looking for gay friendly employers will have another site to check out job vacancies.
Stonewall has launched a job website called ProundEmployers.org.uk, with vacancies posted by gay-friendly employers such as Credit Suisse, BP and De Montford University.
Pinke.biz also has a job search directory with vacancies from gay-friendly employers.
On the new site, searches can be done by a number of different categories, including salary, category, type, title and location.
A careers guide and website for graduate job searchers was also launched by Stonewall.
Students and graduates can visit StartingOutGuide.org.uk to begin their job search. LGBT societies, career services and students unions will also start receiving copies of ‘Starting Out’, Stonewall’s job’s guide.
The employers listed in the resources have polices supporting gay staff and inclusivity.
“Attracting, developing and retaining the most talented staff is key for all of the employers Stonewall works with,” said Laura Doughty, Stonewall deputy chief executive.
“By advertising vacancies on our dedicated site or showcasing why they are an employer of choice in the careers guide, these employers directly reach out to lesbian, gay and bisexual talent, who look for employers who recognise that people perform better when they can be themselves.”
