Man found Guilty of Killing Trans Sex Worker

A man accused of killing a trans sex worker has been found guilty of murder.

 

Leon Fyle, 22, of Catford, denied killing 29-year-old Destiny Lauren when his visited her flat for sex on November 5th, 2009.

 

Before Fyle arrived, Lauren’s brother left the flat to wait outside. He saw Fyle go in and then leave some time after.

 

CCTV filmed Fyle putting on black gloves before entering the flat.

 

After strangling Lauren to death, he stole £350, jewellery and mobile phone before heading out to Kings Cross to sleep with two other sex workers.

 

Lauren was born male before beginning her transition. She was discovered dead by her brother who returned to the flat he was sharing with Lauren after Fyle left.

 

Police are calling Lauren’s death the result of a "brutal and pre-meditated." Fyle denied killing Lauren.

 

Detective Inspector Liz Baker of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command said that Lauren was close to her family and known in Camden.

 

Fyle will be sentenced for murder on September 17th.
