Gay Community Summer Fete!

July 31, 2010

The second annual Community Summer Fete will be held at the LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing on Saturday 31 July 2010. The summer fundraiser for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community (LGBT) which takes place between 13:00 and 18:00, is set to be a fun-filled day out for all the family.

The event will feature a number of traditional fete stalls including brick 'a' brack, face-painting and pedal powered smoothie making as well as a number of competitions such as “Name the Teddy” and “How many Sweets in the jar?” The afternoon will include an array of live music provided by local artists such as Sandra Macbeth and the brand new LGBT Glee Club. There will also be a barbeque to cater for hungry palates.

A highlight for Fete-goers will be the cake competition judged by head chef of Café Fish and star of Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares, India Innes.

Community Development Worker for the LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing said:

“After the huge success of last years fete, we are set for another summer scorcher! Along with all the fun activities there will be a number of prizes up for grabs in the Summer Fete Raffle including meals for two in some of Edinburgh’s finest eateries, Lush health and beauty products and lots more!”

The event is free and all funds raised will go towards the Centre projects. Simply come along to the Centre on Saturday 31 July between 13:00 and 18:00 for a fun-packed afternoon.
