EuroPride held in Warsaw amid Raging Homophobia
July 20, 2010
Two thousand police were on hand in Warsaw on Saturday for EuroPride, and after some delay from homophobic protestors, the marchers will able to reach their final destination.
Ten-thousand marchers showed up to parade through 35 degrees Celsius heat.

Eggs and bottles were thrown at the marchers as police tried to separate the protestors from the peaceful marchers, occasionally having to intervene.
The biggest homophobic political party to show up was the National Rebirth of Poland (NOP) party.
Police in flak jackets kept them from getting too close to the protestors.
The marchers eventually reached their destination, Constitution Square.
Speaking to PinkNews.co.uk, gay Conservative minister Nick Herbert said: “We get a few protesters even in the Pride marches in London. But there are thousands of people here who are in support of this.”
“What's the history of these kinds of marches worldwide – it has been a story that gradually these important values of equality are asserted.”
“Just seeing the reaction of some of the young people on the streets, waving and so on, you do sense that this isn't something that's going to go away.”
The British Tories have been criticized for aligning with an extremely right and anti-gay Polish party in the European parliament.
