Edinburgh’s only LGBT Arts Festival returns for second year!

March 12, 2010

After last year’s launch of Edinburgh’s LGBT Arts Festival the LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing is pleased to announce its return. The 4 week programme promises to be bigger, better and full of brand new events.

Sculpture, Drama, Painting and even Lampshade Making are all on the programme. Favourites from last year including Play-in-a Day and the performance evening are also returning. We are excited to be working alongside the National Galleries of Scotland, who are running ground breaking Workshops for the transgender community to access and respond to the work of photographer Diane Arbus.

The festival concludes on Friday 12th March at the Exhibition and Performance evening an opportunity to view all the colourful work that is to be produced..

This year the festival has been funded by the People’s Postcode Trust

The LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing (9 Howe Street, EH3 6TE) is unique to Edinburgh. It exists to promote the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. It runs events, workshops and courses, provides a wide range of information on health and LGBT topics, and supports LGBT community groups.

This is the second year of what we hope will be a continuing success not only for the Centre, but for Edinburgh’s LGBT community as a whole. To support the festival or to get involved please feel free to contact us!
