Stage Knight Sir Ian McKellen celebrated this LGBT History Month.
February 10, 2010
Everyday this LGBT History Month the Lesbian & Gay Foundation (LGF) are celebrating people who have aimed high to show that sexuality doesn't have to be a barrier to success.

Today, Sir Ian McKellen tells us about realising he was gay, going to University and falling in love and proving to himself that he could successfully play a heterosexual romantic role.
Sir Ian is just one of twenty high profile lesbian, gay and bisexual people who have added their voices to the LGF’s Aim High campaign - which is committed to inspiring young lesbian, gay and bisexual people and highlighting that sexuality doesn't have to be a barrier to success.
Everyday throughout February – LGBT History Month – lgf.org.uk will be celebrating a different inspirational voice from Aim High, so look out for the likes of Beth Ditto, Russell T Davies, John Amaechi and many more.
Their success stories have been brought together to inspire the next generation in the LGF’s Aim High guide for young lesbian, gay and bisexual people, which will be available before the end of LGBT History Month.
