Natalie Portman Weary Of Lesbian Kiss in Next Movie
February 08, 2010
Natalie Portman has revealed that she was terrified about having to do an onscreen lesbian kiss with fellow actress Mila Kunis, in her latest movie, Black Swan.
When interviewed the star said: "I was terrified. At the moment I lived in a state of inner terror.”
Portman added that she was also concerned about the nude scene, as the nude sex scene could potentially become the main topic of the movie, taking away from the intended message. She said:
“Nudity is something absolutely natural and I'm not prudish but in a film it can be distracting.”
The actress also expressed fears of being typecast, with “Black Swan” bringing the perfect opportunity to take on a more challenging role. She said: “Doing 'Black Swan' I couldn't say no. The project is a huge opportunity for me to show a new me. I can't always play the nice mothers.”
Portman concluded by why she had the fears about doing the nude sex scene and said: “My other problem is that single pictures are being taken out of context and put on the internet."
Black Swan is a Darren Aronofsky directed supernatural thriller about two ballerinas, Odette and Nina in New York City's top ballet companies, to be released later this year, with the specific dates yet to be announced.
