Alan Cumming Honoured With OBE

Film and stage actor and gay rights activist Alan Cumming has attended the ceremony at Buckingham Palace in which he received an OBE from Princess Anne.
Cumming kitted out in tartan, collected his OBE from the Princess Royal, with his civil partner Grant Shaffer, mother Mary and brother Tom looking on.
The 44-year-old star later revealed that he had gone commando, and said: "I have no underpants on."
He also said: "The Princess is lovely. I said if I fainted to not be alarmed. She thought it was hilarious."
The star who now lives in the US, has become famous for appearances in films and television sitcoms such as X2: X Men United and the Spy Kids trilogy, Sex And The City, Frasier and Third Rock From The Sun.
In addition to his film and television appearances, Cumming has also been recognised for his work on stage, for which he received an Oliver Award in 1991 for his National Theatre of London performance of Accidental Death of an Anarchist and a Tony Award in 1998 for Cabaret on Broadway.
The outspoken star has also been active in the promotion of gay rights in both the UK and US, for which he has received recognition for his work against homophobia. He has also worked with numerous HIV and AIDS charities. He was quoted once as saying: "I have a voice because of my work. I'm loud and I speak my mind.”
