Job Description :

The Reward Grant projects are a group of projects developed by the Borough, with a total value of around £6m. The projects include the refurbishment of community hubs, and contacting residents at home to connect them with services. They have all been developed to deliver benefits to Islington residents, particularly those who are most vulnerable.

To manage the relationships necessary to ensure these projects are successfully delivered, including liaising with Council employees, Councillors, boards and committees, as well as partner organisations through the Islington Strategic Partnership, and other organisations and individuals including those in the voluntary sector.

To develop and introduce effective and timely programme management for the Reward Grant projects, and other projects as appropriate.

Where appropriate, to develop and/or oversee the effective development of service level agreements and / or contracts, and processes for monitoring, evaluation and payment

Ensuring that high quality equality impact assessments are in place, and that they are acted upon appropriately

To be responsible for the delivery of specific projects. This includes efficient commissioning, procurement , monitoring and contract management

To develop and deliver project milestones within timeframe / budget, and to regularly report on progress and issues, with options and analysis

To monitor and take necessary action regarding project progress, issues and risks

To escalate specific risks, issues and potential implications as appropriate to the Head of Policy, or the Director of Strategy and Partnerships as required

To work positively with technical personnel within the Council and partner organisations, and where appropriate with suppliers to ensure delivery of technical specifications in designated timescales

To effectively oversee and if appropriate manage the budgets for the projects, including ensuring that good financial management processes are in place.

To work collaboratively with the Islington Strategic Partnership Support Manager

To co-ordinate, support and challenge other staff involved in the delivery of the projects

To manage relationships both internally and externally, ensuring that key stakeholders are both kept up to date, and involved where appropriate, including managing expectations and conflict effectively

To provide written and verbal reports as appropriate to Strategy & Partnerships, Corporate Management Board, the ISP, and other committees, organisations or individuals as required. To ensure the effective dissemination of information regarding projects to all interested parties.

To become familiar with and abide by the Council’s procurement rules, standing orders, financial regulations, and any other legal requirements

To be politically sensitive and able to recognise and deal with a range of issues from different stakeholders
