Bird and Co Creative Design Revamps Pinke Website

Tuesday 1st July 2008

Have you noticed any changes to Pinke.biz recently? Our friends at Bird and Co Creative Design have taken on the task of revamping the Pinke website by giving it a more ‘friendly’ approach and improving functionality.

After sitting down and discussing how the website could be improved the designers at Bird and Co fired up their Macs and began churning out ideas on how to improve Pinke’s look and feel.

Several new improvements were made, such as moving the style from a corporate feel to a more ‘magazine’ type of structure and improving the functionality of the website by having LGBT news headlines and articles on the front page, which would improve the site’s accessibility and ease of use.

Another exciting new feature is the events panel, where readers can easily see what social and charity occasions are happening all over the world.

Once the Pinke board had approved the design Bird and Co’s specialist web team then took care of all the challenging technical and backend issues that make the site work.

In addition to the main Pinke.biz website, Bird and Co were commissioned to revamp the PinkePals social network. They made some major improvements, enabling members to find and interact with each other far more easily.

Bal Phandal, Head of Web Services for Bird and Co, said:

“Social Networking plays a major role in today’s lifestyle with websites such as Facebook, MySpace and Bebo all helping communities come together. We felt that the Pinke website was the ideal platform for the LGBT communities to socially interact with each other.”

In this latest revamp of PinkePals, Bird and Co. have included such features as invite a friend, where members can invite non-members to join Pinkepals, profile updates, a place where members can change what mood they feel today etc., and Pinkemotions, where members can send emoticons to each other.

Bird and Co will be launching the new PinkePals section very soon.

So what does the future hold for Pinke.biz? The exciting new PinkeRadio is launching on July the 1st. This dedicated internet radio station lets users to a dedicated LGBT radio service through Pinke.biz and PinkeRadio.com. Adam Fox and Richard Hall will provide friendly banter and spin various types of music, with several guest DJ’s including Jason Rosam and Neil Ormonde also making an appearance.
