People ask what motivated me to start the website well I don’t know about you but I became tired disappointed and frustrated about the amount of sexual imagery and advertising content of gay-specific websites. If you put Gay friendly into Google you will get in excess of 23 million links and entering gay websites you get 17 million plus.

Who wants to trawl through all that to find a website that can inform, educate, support people from all walks of life.

I can promise you that on our site you will not find any sexual imagery or sexual adverts. So you can have your granny look at this site or your children.

A further motivation for Pinke was to provide somewhere for service providers to access the LGBT market.

Many have not yet come to terms with the fact that nearly 10% of the population is gay or lesbian - and that 10% brings in a staggering total of £70 billion a year in the UK alone. Whilst many haven’t, some have and want to do more but advertising on sites with explicit sexual images that can pose a reputational risk. Our website is family-friendly and not bombarded with sexual imagery and pornographic links.

Wouldn’t it be great to be able look for a gay-friendly business or tradesperson in your area? Sounds easy enough - but it isn't. Until now that is.
